The Arisaka is finally back in Call of Duty – sort of! The Type 99 is one of the new Sniper Rifles coming to Sledgehammer Games‘ Vanguard and it is just as good as you remember the Arisaka being in Black Ops and World At War. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an Arisaka – or Type 99 – in Call of Duty, though. Here’s everything you need to know about the best Type 99 loadout available – so you can make the most of this iconic bolt-action rifle.

Vanguard’s Type 99 – Sniper Rifle

As a bolt-action Sniper Rifle, the Arisaka isn’t going to be as fast-firing as the M1 Garand – or any other Marksman Rifle for that matter. It will, however, deal more damage per shot. It’s got a decent damage range, but there’s going to be some kickback from each shot making consecutive shots harder than you might think.

At the end of the day, though, it is a Sniper Rifle. This is going to be a weapon that you’re going to be choosing if you have a lane to protect, or if you want to sit back on one of Vanguard’s larger maps. It’s certainly not a bad choice as Sniper Rifles go and – as long as you’re landing your shots in the head or upper body – it’s as hard-hitting as its peers.
