Call of Duty Vanguard is finally here and Sledgehammer Games is bringing back an absolute classic semi-automatic rifle in the form of the SVT-40. This is much more like the M1 Garand than the G-43, however, it does differ enough to make it a better choice for those of you wanting a harder-hitting weapon. Here’s everything you need to know about the SVT-40 and the best loadout on offer for it at the moment.

Vanguard’s SVT-40 – Marksman Rifle

The SVT-40 is a Marksman Rifle you may have seen before – it appeared most recently in Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty WWII, although it isn’t exactly the same. That being said, it still offers a heavier option for those of you out there looking for a high-damage semi-automatic rifle and it is much more adaptable than any of the Sniper Rifles currently on offer.

The one thing the SVT-40 struggles with is its damage range – you’ll find there’s a drop off at longer ranges that mean you’ll need to put another shot or two into an opponent before they go down. This is manageable with the right attachments, but it’s always an issue. If you’re looking to use this at longer ranges, you need to make each shot count.
