Vanguard: Best MG42 loadout & class build

Best MG42 Loadout

Sledgehammer Games‘ next Call of Duty title is here and it’s set in and around the Second World War – of course, the MG42 was going to make an appearance. This is one of the most iconic Call of Duty weapons of the era and a comfortable choice for anyone looking to deal a lot of damage very fast. The only issue is the fact it’s a Light Machine Gun. This is a blessing and a curse and this MG42 loadout guide will explain why.

Vanguard’s MG42 – Light Machine Gun

The MG42 is one of those weapons where you know what you’re getting – you know where you stand with it, with or without attachments. It has a fast fire rate for a Light Machine Gun and you can empty a magazine a lot quicker than you might think. It also doesn’t have the worst recoil pattern for a Light Machine Gun either, although you’re still going to have to battle it without the right attachments.

Like any Light Machine Gun, it is on the slower side of things. This means it has poor mobility and a slow base reload speed. It also doesn’t deal too much damage per shot – even when you compare it to other weapons in this category. This means you’re going to have to keep your sights trained if you want to mow down enemies like you know the MG42 can.

There’s going to be a meta established and then this meta is going to change with each new weapon or gameplay change. With this in mind, we’ll keep this MG42 loadout guide up to date with whatever changes are made.
