Sledgehammer Games‘ Call of Duty Vanguard is bringing back some classic Call of Duty weapons and the G-43 is one that everyone who’s played any of the Second World War-based Call of Duty titles will know and love. It is, of course, the Gewehr 43 – a fast semi-automatic rifle that rivals the M1 Garand for damage and mobility. If you want to tackle enemies from a distance, the G-43 is going to be a solid choice for you. Here’s the best G-43 loadout – something that should give you a fighting edge.

Vanguard’s G-43 – Marksman Rifle

The G-43, which you may know as the Gewehr 43, is a Marksman Rifle that offers a decent damage output but isn’t the strongest in class. Where the M1 Garand will take two to three shots, the G-43 might take four or five. That being said, you can shoot it faster and its base recoil is more manageable.

This is a rifle that’s going to do a job, ultimately, and will suit players who want the long-range option a Marksman Rifle offers but the speed to react if someone closes the gap and rushes at you. Of course, it isn’t going to be the perfect weapon for a close-quarters fight… But, it’ll handle it well enough if you’re quick on the trigger and make each shot count. You can throw ten attachments onto weapons in Vanguard – the G-43 is going to be a beast when you’ve decked it out.

Here’s everything you need to know about putting together the best G-43 loadout – something that should lean into the weapon’s natural strengths and manage its weaknesses. Be warned though, attachments can only do so much. This isn’t going to suit a run-and-gun playstyle as well as an Assault Rifle or Submachine Gun.

  • Rear Grip – Stippled Grip

  • Proficiency – Tight Grip
