New Cold War Zombies DLC map revealed as Forsaken

Zombies DLC 4

The final season of Black Ops Cold War content is upon us and we’re just over a week away from the start of Season 6 and all the new content in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. What better time to release a new Zombies trailer, right? Treyarch has been teasing DLC 4 for a while now – the final round-based Zombies map to be added to Black Ops Cold War ahead of Vanguard – and we finally know a little bit about what to expect. Here’s the latest and when we should be able to jump into the next instalment of the Dark Aether storyline…

New Zombies DLC 4 Trailer? Not just yet…

It feels like it’s been forever since we got our first glimpse of Mauer Der Toten – or even the full release of Mauer Der Toten, for that matter – but now we’re staring at Black Ops Cold War Season 6 and the next round-based Zombies map in the face.

It might be the final Black Ops Cold War round-based Zombies map, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t going to be a good one! Zombies are timeless, in a way, and Treyarch is well-aware of the dedicated Zombies community they’ve built throughout the years. We can’t imagine this is going to disappoint – especially because the Dark Aether Storyline being explored throughout Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies experience is going to be continued in Vanguard’s Zombies mode when it releases in November.

Thankfully, we know a little what to expect – even without a trailer! The Black Ops Cold War Zombies DLC 4 map is going to be titled Forsaken.

” As fans have learned in the latest Intel throughout Season Five, Requiem’s Director has plans for Samantha Maxis, employing unorthodox methods to “help” her understand the powers she has developed during her time in the Dark Aether. Requiem and Omega have embarked upon rival operations to extract Sergeant Kazimir Zykov from the Dark Aether, believing this “lost Russian” – the Soviet soldier who closed the portal at Projekt Endstation – will be the key to preventing a destructive force from entering our world.

And now, Omega defector Sergei Ravenov has provided Requiem with intelligence detailing a massive new Aetherial portal being constructed in western Ukraine…”

When does Season 6 actually come out?

Black Ops Cold War’s Season 6 update is due out on October 6th – looking at the current “end date” for Season 5’s Battle Pass. However, this is unconfirmed at the time of writing so take this with a pinch of salt.

Looking at Treyarch’s usual update schedule, we should be able to jump into the new Black Ops Cold War Zombies map from around 21:00 PST / 23:00 EST / 04:00 BST (Next Day) on release day. This is usually when seasonal updates are released, provided there aren’t any issues, and there should be about a day of preloading to help you prepare.

If you’re looking to jump into the new Easter Egg – referred to as the Main Quest in most official communications – you’re going to have to wait a little bit. When Firebase Z and Mauer Der Toten were released, the Main Quest’s activation in-game was delayed by over 12 hours! This is usually done to give players a chance to explore the map and “enjoy the experience” prior to grinding objectives. We would put money on Treyarch following this pattern with the next round-based Zombies map and this would mean the Main Quest will probably be delayed until around 10:00 PST / 13:00 EST / 18:00 BST on release day.

It’s not a long wait, but it should help you avoid spoilers if you can’t play the new round-based Zombies map as soon as it’s released.
