Apex Legends: Season 8 Ranked Changes

Mayhem is coming to Kings Canyon and Respawn Entertainment are shaking up the Apex Legends Ranked systems with a number of changes in Season 8.

Earlier today, ahead of Season 8, Respawn Entertainment have laid out how they hope to improve the Ranked systems for Apex Legends in the future. The transparency is welcome among fans and helps to convey the fact that Respawn actually listen to their players.

Below, we’ve listed all the main things Respawn Entertainment want to change with Apex Legends Ranked systems:

  • Create a healthier top end in Diamond and up;
  • Expand the Diamond Rank player pool for better matchmaking;
  • Improve Match Quality for ranked matches;
  • Fill entire Ranked lobbies with players of the same rank;

Complete Apex Legends Season 8 Ranked Changes

Below, we’ve summarised all the changes coming to the Ranked modes and features in Apex Legends Season 8. You can find the full breakdown from Respawn Entertainment on the Official Apex Legends site.

  • Placement RP earned earlier in a match;
    RP rewards begin at placement 13 instead of 10.
  • Kill / Assist Count raised to 6;
    Earn more RP for kills and assists, top players should have a faster way back to the top with Predator ranks.
  • Assist Threshold Increased to 10s;
    This is up from 7.5s after dealing damage to an enemy.
  • Predator Increased to top 750 Players;
    This should help with queue times for higher-rank players.
  • Matchmaking Tightening;
    Players below diamond will match-make more often within their own ranks.
