Apex Legends Mobile Game Announced

Apex Legends Mobile

While we have heard minor bits and pieces of news regarding the Apex Legends Mobile Game late last year, fans have been treated to something of a news bomb today. The information given today gives us a better idea of what exactly the game will be and play like, as well as some of the first people to get their hands on it.

The first notable piece of info is that this isn’t merely a port of Apex Legends as some thought it may be. While Apex is certainly a game that looks much more current and demanding than Fortnite, the latter DID have its mobile port be the same game. This will not be the case for the Apex Legends Mobile Game. As such, the mobile Apex will not have crossplay with its console and PC contemporaries.

The game director, Chad Grenier, specified that the mobile version would be built from the ground up for smartphone use, leading the pack as the most advanced battle royale on a phone. One has to wonder how they can take on such a deep game on mobile devices, but they seem confident enough in their plans.

The other notable information is that of a beta available to select players. The beta is supposed to roll out worldwide over the course of the year, but for now only a few thousand people in India and the Philippines will be able to play. Hopefully this means we’ll get to see some of the core gameplay online within a month and have a better idea for what’s in store for players.

All in all, Apex Legends is still thriving for sure with a Switch port, 100 million players, and the Apex Legends Mobile Game all in the past month or so.
