Nintendo E3 Predictions: BotW2, Splatoon 3, and More!

Nintendo E3 2021

Nintendo has confirmed it will yet again have a stage presence at E3 2021, and this naturally got fans right into speculation territory as to what could be announced in a simultaneous Nintendo Direct. I’m not immune to such antics myself, and figured I’d throw out my Nintendo E3 Predictions for the upcoming press conferences.

What’s in the Works

Earlier this year, we had myself and a number of other fellas chronicle the February Nintendo Direct as it aired, and a decent amount of info as to what Nintendo’s been working on and has coming was given to fans.

The biggest pieces of info here were likely the Pyra/Mythra reveal, Skyward Sword HD, and announcement of Splatoon 3.

I’d be very surprised if more info for games like Skyward Sword, Splatoon 3, Mario Golf, etc, aren’t at least a small presence in the likely Nintendo Direct. Some of these titles are coming as early as June, and Nintendo tends to love its release trailers and such.

The Smash reveal was certainly big news, but the Aegis duo has already been released. Maybe this is the most boring prediction to make, but I feel another DLC character reveal, if not same day release, is near assured at E3.

Predictions

Now that we’re through what we know, let’s go into the fun Nintendo E3 Predictions territory with new releases which are yet unnanounced.

Breath of the Wild 2 is almost assuredly going to be shown off, as they apologized for information delays in the last Nintendo Direct. Clearly they were pretty close to showing off whatever they wished to do so. Splatoon 3 will likely also have a somewhat meaty portion of time devoted to it, not being slated for release until 2022.

In terms of new stuff, all we can do is hope. Metroid Prime 4 had to restart development, so some good news for that game would be very welcome. Same for the “very close to completion” Pikmin 4 that fans have very infrequently heard updates from Shigeru Miyamoto since 2015. Footage of Pokemon Legends Arceus would also be nice to see, being such a big title.

These are just random hopes of mine but please give me Kid Icarus Uprising 2. Really any dormant Nintendo series would be nice to see a comeback. A new F-Zero, Mother, or Star Fox game would always be appreciated by fans.

Other than that, I imagine we see some updates on third party games like No More Heroes 3, Bayonetta 3 (PLEASE), etc. Maybe some news on smaller budget remakes or something of the like, since a lot of big, open games are in the works. New Fire Emblem reveal? Mario stuff? Really, almost anything is on the table, but never set expectations too high.

Anyway, that’s about all I’ve got for my Nintendo E3 Predictions! We’ll have tons of stuff in the future about Nintendo E3 news as it’s shown.
