Resident Evil: Capcom announces a new showcase for April

Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Resident Evil, Capcom announced a new showcase for Resident Evil Village happening in April.

In a Capcom-Unity blog post authored by the Social and Community Manager of Capcom USA, Kellen Haney, the details of the 25th anniversary campaign were broadly outlined.

With no specific details mentioned, the speculation of what the event could entail has been entirely to the fans, as outlined by Haney.

The previous showcase that happened in January, hosted by Brittney Brombacher of What’s Good Games, revealed a lot of exciting new details about the game with a closer look at the game’s design, and brand new gameplay footage.

The January showcase also announced a PlayStation 5 exclusive demo that was available moments after the showcase was over, which means that the Spring demo mentioned by the Producer and Founder of Capcom Global Productions, Peter Fabiano, is most likely going to be revealed in the April showcase.

Fabiano also mentioned that the upcoming Spring demo would be available on all platforms, meaning that more fans would be able to experience a slice of the game before release.

In addition to the Resident Evil Village gameplay information and demo announcement, the showcase also revealed more information about the Resident Evil RE:Verse death match type multiplayer game.

Subsequent announcements included details on a collaboration with The Division 2 and a sneak peek at the upcoming CGI animated Netflix web series Resident Evil Infinite Darkness. It is speculated that the April showcase event could include more such details on Capcom’s various ongoing Resident Evil projects

Haney’s blog post mentioned that there are surprise announcements regarding Resident Evil Village in store, and that fans are encouraged to take the day off in order to watch the event.

It is safe to speculate that the Resident Evil 25th Anniversary April showcase could very well include more information about Resident Evil Village and RE:Verse, along with some exciting new announcements.
