Ratchet and Clank to get a huge PS5 upgrade next month

Ratchet and Clank PS4 60fps

At the time of writing this, the PS4’s Ratchet and Clank can be downloaded for free as part of Sony’s Play At Home initiative.

Unlike the usual PS Plus games, players don’t need an active PS Plus subscription in order to play the game.

Ratchet and Clank is available until March 31st to download for free, it is also available as part of the PS5’s PS Plus Collection for PS Plus subscribers.

But, there is good news for those who are looking to play it on PS5. A new update in April will see the game jump into the next-generation with some much needed upgrades.

In a tweet, Insomniac Games revealed that Ratchet and Clank will soon be playable at 60fps on PlayStation 5, rather than the current 30fps that the game runs at on PS4.

There is no word yet as to whether it will improve the graphics at all, but even if it doesn’t, doubling the frame rate is great news and hopefully this is a sign that the upcoming Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart will run at 60fps too when it is released on June 11th 2021.
