Fortnite 15.40 Patch Notes: Everything You Need To Know

The final major update of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is now here, the 15.40 update. Here is everything you need to know.

Flint-Knock Unvaulted

The Flint-Knock Pistol is back! After being teased last night by Epic, the fan favourite weapon is back.

It can be found both as floor loot and in chests, the Uncommon Flint-Knock is extremely easy to find so it shouldn’t be too long until you’re yeeting opponents again.

LTMs Return

It has been announced that Air Royale and Floor Is Lava will be making a return over the coming days. Air Royale is an aerial combat mode with teams flying planes and trying to shoot down their opponents, while Floor Is Lava sees the ground slowly become lava, forcing players to use builds to rotate and try and avoid being dropped into the lava.

New Portals

Two new portals have been revealed, one near Sweaty Sands and one near Logjam/Greasy Grove. These mean that we should be seeing 2 new collaborations before the end of Season 5.

Midas NPC

It appears that Midas may be coming back to the game an NPC. Midas hasn’t been seen in the game since the end of Chapter 2 Season 2. It isn’t clear whether he will be an NPC in Season 5 or will be back next season.

Short Nite

A new Party Royale event called Short Nite is coming to the on February 20th. These will be a collection of short films that players can watch in the games Party Royale mode.

Blue Jade

A new blue style has been released for Red Jade, making one of the most popular skins even more appealing. Red Jade is an 800 V-Bucks skin, so having a new style is unexpected, but definitely welcomed.

Leaked Cosmetics

With every new update comes a bunch of new cosmetics that will be available over the coming weeks. The 15.40 update didn’t provide too many, but as we’re nearing the end of the season it isn’t surprising.

Week 12-15 Challenges

The Fortnite 15.40 update saw the final 4 weeks of the challenges added to the game. This likely means we won’t see another major update before Season 6 launches on March 16th.

Here are all of the challenges that are still to be released before the end of the season, with them releasing on February 18th and 25th, and March 4th and 11th.
