Fortnite Server Downtime Today
Fortnite server downtime is scheduled for today as Epic Games prepares to launch Chapter 7 Season 2. As with every major seasonal update, servers will go offline temporarily while the new content is added to the game.
Players attempting to log in during this time will see matchmaking disabled and may not be able to access Fortnite until the update is complete.
When Do Fortnite Servers Go Down?
Fortnite servers are expected to go down in the early hours of March 19, 2026.
Typically, Epic Games begins downtime at around:
- 7am GMT (UK time)
- 2am ET
- 11pm PT (previous day)
Matchmaking is usually disabled shortly before this, so players may notice issues logging in even before the official downtime begins.
When Will Fortnite Servers Be Back Online?
Fortnite servers are usually offline for between 2 to 4 hours during major updates.
Based on previous seasons, servers could return at around:
- 9am to 11am GMT
However, this can vary depending on the size of the update and whether any issues occur during deployment.

Why Does Fortnite Go Down for Updates?
Fortnite server downtime is required to allow Epic Games to safely roll out new content and changes.
This includes:
- New Battle Pass content
- Map updates and new POIs
- Weapon and gameplay changes
- Bug fixes and performance improvements
Without downtime, these updates couldn’t be properly implemented.
