What is the best region in the world? Is it Korea, which was known in the past as the greatest region for League of Legends, or was it China, which has teams that have won the World Championship and MSI in the last two years? Has Vietnam’s return to the global stage been a positive one so far?

How are the western teams doing? Who has posed more of a threat to the Asian teams, Europe or North America? Who has won more games than the other, and who holds hope for their fans? The first round-robin holds all the answers, and it’s time to find out.

With Worlds groups day four coming to a close, and the end of the first round-robin passing by, who is the best region right now at the 2022 League of Legends World Championship? Is it Korea, China, Europe, or another region entirely?

Right now, it’s close between China and Korea, but the edge has to go to China just based on their current standings in their respective groups. At present, China has two teams in first place outright in their groups, and one team tied for first in another group. Their lowest-place team is Top Esports, who are in third place in Group C.

Behind them is, as you may expect, Korea, with one team in first place and three other teams in second place. Both region’s teams have been playing well and above some of their competition head-to-head, but with the stage being best-of-one games, anything can change in an instant from a single mistake.

The third-best region right now at Worlds goes to Europe. The teams from the LEC currently hold the first position in two groups and third in another. Rogue, the team that is solely in first place in Group C, have beaten every team in their group, including a Chinese team, a Korean team, and one Vietnamese team.

They have played well and so far exceeded expectations.

North America, Vietnam, and the PCS are by far the worst regions right now in the group stage. North America, one of the four major regions, has managed to win zero games after the first nine games combined after the end of Worlds groups day four. This has been the worst showing for a major region ever and will certainly lead to changes for each team next year.
