League of Legends: 2023 LCS Spring Split day fifteen recap

The crowd during the 2023 LCS Spring Split day fifteen

The 2023 LCS Spring Split day fifteen is here, and that means it’s the last day before the last week of the regular season. Yesterday, we saw the resurgence of 100 Thieves and Team Liquid Honda while their backs are against the wall to make it to the playoffs, can they continue their win streaks today, or was yesterday just a fluke?

Yesterday, we also saw the cracks starting to form for both the Golden Guardians and the previously undisputed first-place FlyQuest. For the Golden Guardians, they just looked like they were a step below 100 Thieves. They were not able to put up a fight against their opponents. They were sluggish and made many mistakes that were costly in the long run. Can they bounce back today against TSM, or are they doomed to slide down the rankings?

For FlyQuest, it’s time to start to worry. What was seemingly the best team in the league at the beginning of the split has turned into a middle-of-the-pack team that has problems everywhere except in the ADC position. If they lose today during the 2023 LCS Spring Split day fifteen and Cloud9 wins their game, they will fall to second place for the first time this split. Can they beat Immortals Progressive, or are they doomed to fall to second place?

Despite the win yesterday, during their game on the 2023 LCS Spring Split day fifteen, they, unfortunately, lost today to Cloud9, making their run to make it into playoffs much harder. Yesterday, they looked like they had fixed their problems, playing well in the early game, and keeping their lead into the late game, allowing them to close out their latest win.

Today, however, was a different case. They did not play together, their early game was a mess, and they had no lead to keep going into the mid-game. For all that they had seemingly improved yesterday, it was all forgotten today. This is surprising due to the fact that yesterday, their opponents were FlyQuest, the team that is tied with their opponents today. Why were they able to beat FlyQuest yesterday but not Cloud9 today? That’s an answer that only the coaches for Team Liquid Honda will be able to solve.

Despite the loss today, however, they are not out of the playoff hunt just yet. For the 2023 LCS Spring Playoffs, the top eight teams will make it into the playoffs, and as you can see below, they are just on the cusp of playoffs, and will likely stay there since there is a large gap between themselves and ninth place.

That being said, if they want to make a deeper run into the playoffs, they need to fix everything as soon as possible. If they are not able to fix their flaws at least a little bit, then they are most likely going to be one of the first teams eliminated when it comes time for them to play.
