The 2022 LCS Spring Split is finally here. The Lock In Tournament is over, along with all the academy and replacement players that played in it. Now it’s time for the full rosters to take the stage and show what they are made of. Will Team Liquid continue from winning the Lock In Tournament, will Evil Geniuses bounce back after not being able to take a game in the finals?

Champions Make Their Debut

The first week of the 2022 LCS Spring Split was also the first day that Zeri, the newest champion in League of Legends, was enabled in North America. In the first game of the day, she made her debut. Played by the bottom laner from Evil Geniuses, Danny, all of her strengths were shown in full force. In the hands of one of the best players in North America, she could not seem to be killed. Her speed, damage and utility were on full display, finishing the game with a Pentakill to top everything off. For the rest of the day, she was banned in every game, not to be played again.

Though not a new champion, Janna in the top lane made her debut in the LCS. With all the changes that happened to top lane at the begging of Season 12, champions in the lane have had a hard time impacting the game, leading to players taking Janna top lane with smite. This playstyle made her the highest win rate in solo queue, and led to her debuting on the LCS stage, played by FlyQuest’s top laner Kumo. Seeing her being played on the big stage showed how unhealthy she is for the game, and hopefully it leads to it being hotfixed by Riot.
