Now that the 2022 LCS super week has come to an end, the playoffs are ready to go. Out of all ten teams that played in the regular split, only the top eight teams are able to compete, meaning that Immortals Progressive and Dignitas finished their seasons this week.

The long road to Chicago and Worlds begins for the rest of the teams that still have life. For the LCS, the top three teams at the end of the playoffs make it to the biggest competition in the world. The two teams that have the easiest trip there are Evil Geniuses and 100 Thieves. Both teams only need to win two best-of-five series to make it the distance.

Of course, making it to Worlds would be the goal for any team, but right now, teams are focusing on lifting the trophy in Chicago in front of a crowd full of LCS fans. Teams in the upper bracket have it easier since losing one series can still have a second chance to play in the lower bracket.

Last split, Evil Geniuses made a run in the lower bracket, not dropping a single series after being knocked down, and wound up winning the entire thing, so teams should not be disheartened after being sent down to the lower bracket.

In order of standings, the eight teams that made it into the playoffs are Evil Geniuses, 100 Thieves, Team Liquid, Counter Logic Gaming, Cloud9, FlyQuest, TSM, and Golden Guardians. Golden Guardians and TSM start out in the lower bracket, so if they lose one series, they go home, but it should be a good series.

  9. Immortals Progressive (4-14)

Now that the regular split is over, the next step is playoffs. The first series will be FlyQuest going against Team Liquid Honda on Saturday, August 20th at 1:30 PM PST/ 4:30 PM EST/ 9:30 PM BST. Cloud9 will take on Counter Logic Gaming on Sunday at 12:30 PM PST/ 3:30 PM EST/ 8:30 PM BST.

All series will be played in a best-of-five format, where the loser is not done just yet, but the road to Chicago is a lot harder and leaves no room for error. To watch the LCS Summer Playoffs, make sure to tune in at lolesports.com.
