Coming into the 2022 LCS Summer Split, Evil Geniuses were predicted to have a slump in their play coming out of the Mid-Seasonal Invitational. Historically, teams that have come back from MSI have had a slump in their play, resulting in them not having the start that fans and experts expected them to have.

This split, however, they have performed above expectations and have not dropped a single game yet. So far, they have beaten Cloud9 and 100 Thieves, only leaving FlyQuest as their final opponent to have a perfect weekend.

Everyone on the team has been playing very well, from the top lane to the bottom lane. Jojopyun has held his own against Jensen and Abbedagge, and Danny has had solid play in both games so far and had his moments where he pops off in ways that we’re used to as well.

Of course, the team is going to hit speedbumps along the way during the split, but if they are able to keep roughly this level of play consistent, then they are a force to be reconned with and should be a favorite to go to the finals again.
