The first week of the 2022 League of Legends LCS Summer Split has come to an end. Will experts feel vindicated in their power ranking coming into the split, or will there be a surprise upset leaving a top team with no wins in the first week?

Coming into the split, Cloud9 was by far seen as one of the top three teams in the LCS. With Fudge going back to the top lane, Blabber in the jungle, Jensen making his return to the LCS, and Berserker pairing up with Zven in the bottom lane, the team looked invincible on paper.

Unfortunately for Cloud9 and their fans, they have been plagued by problems out of the team’s control. Prior to the start of the split, Berserker lost his passport, not letting him leave South Korea, and Zven was in visa limbo, not knowing when he would get his green card.

If the only problem for Cloud9 was the fact that they didn’t have their intended bottom lane playing, then there wouldn’t be any cause for alarm, but there are more problems than just their roster woes.

The team has been having trouble in-game as well, both with decision-making and just throwing games because their mechanics are not up to par or at the same level as their opponents. There is only so much that adding two players can do to fix the team, but the problems they have shown can’t be fixed quickly.
