Coming into the 2022 LCS Summer Split, both FlyQuest and Counter Logic Gaming made changes to their top lanes. For Counter Logic Gaming they swapped Jenkins for their top laner from their academy team Dhokla.

In his performance in the last game of the day, he had himself a game. Playing against a Sejuani as Yone, he could still find flanks and cause the enemy to burn ultimates to save their allies, causing CLG to win team fights and the game at the end.

FlyQuest also brought up their academy top laner Phillip and send down Kumo. Phillip didn’t have as constant a good game as Dhokla, but he still had key plays. His most impactful moment came during the fight around the dragon soul point.

He found a flank on Ablazeolive, the most fed player on their team, and locked him down, allowing the rest of his team to follow up and win the game.

There are other new players in this split as well. On Immortals, Kenvi joined from the 100 Thieves Academy team, and Dignitas added Gamsu, also from the 100 Thieves Academy team.

Unfortunately for these two players, they didn’t have the greatest showings in their first games on their new teams, but the split is still young and they have time to improve.
