The League of Legends LCS Summer Playoffs round two has arrived, and everything is still on the line. Between 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses, Cloud9, and Team Liquid Honda, the first two teams representing North America at Worlds will be decided in the upper bracket.

In the lower bracket, a Worlds spot will not be decided; instead, the first two teams sent home will be determined. Between TSM, FlyQuest, Golden Guardians, and CLG, two of them will have their season end, shutting down their dreams of making it to Worlds.

Who will be the first two teams making it to Worlds, and who will be the first two teams to be sent home? It will all be decided during the second round of the LCS Summer Playoffs.

  • FlyQuest < TSM
  • TSM > FlyQuest

After a rocky season where TSM made multiple roster changes, they made it past their first playoff series. After beating FlyQuest 3-2 in the series, they have the chance to make a lower bracket run to make it to Worlds. The probability may be low, but the chance is there, and they have done it before in the past.

FlyQuest, however, is done for the year. They had some bright spots throughout the season, especially in mid-lane and top-lane, where rookies Philip and Tocouille performed well and had standout seasons. Fans of FlyQuest should hope that not much changes with this roster next year, maybe outside of a change at the ADC position.

LCS Summer Playoffs round two: CLG vs Golden Guardians

  • CLG > Golden Guardians
  • CLG < Golden Guardians
  • CLG > Golden Guardians
  • CLG < Golden Guardians
  • CLG > Golden Guardians

The team full of rookies and players nobody wanted finally won their first playoff series for the organization since 2019. There were problems with their play, mostly how they could not close a game out to save their lives, but their season is still going, and the possibility of them going to Worlds still lives.

Golden Guardians, the team that nobody expected to make playoffs, let alone win a game, are done for the year. Their season was not the greatest, with roster swaps and poor performances from players across the board that led to their General Manager being let go from the team. Hopefully, for the Golden Guardians fans, the team comes back with a new look that revamps their team.

LCS Summer Playoffs round two: 100 Thieves vs Team Liquid Honda

  • 100 Thieves > Team Liquid Honda
  • Team Liquid Honda < 100 Thieves
  • Team Liquid Honda > 100 Thieves
  • 100 Thieves < Team Liquid Honda
  • 100 Thieves > Team Liquid Honda

100 Thieves are the first team from North America to be present at Worlds. Though the team had rocky decisions during the mid-game, Closer, the team’s jungle put on a show. If the team wants to perform internationally, however, they really need to clean up their game, or they’ll be picked apart.

Team Liquid Honda won some games, but Hans Sama had some problems. His reaction times were poor, and he seemed to disrespect 100 Thieves and their engage. The team relied on him for his damage to his champions, and with him dead, he couldn’t do anything. He needs to be faster on the trigger if the superstar team wants to make it to Worlds.

LCS Summer Playoffs round two: Cloud9 vs Evil Geniuses

  • Cloud9 > Evil Geniuses
  • Evil Geniuses < Cloud9
  • Evil Geniuses > Cloud9
  • Evil Geniuses < Cloud9

Finally, being the underdog in a matchup seemed to favor Cloud9. They had an amazing game against the best team in the regular season in the LCS. They played well, punished their mistakes, and won easily. If this performance continues, they should do well at Worlds.

Evil Geniuses did not look like themselves. They were sloppy, poor in lane, and did not team fight well. If they want to make it to Worlds and make it far, they need to look like they did in the regular split and not like the team they were today.
