Spica leaves TSM, where will he go next?

TSM Jungler Spica On Stage At The LCS Studio

Spica, the former jungler for TSM, is now a free agent. Although the LCS Summer Finals and Worlds are at the forefront of everyone’s mind, it’s worth wondering where the former LCS MVP will end up.

There are some teams that he may be a good fit for, but the team may not have the funds to get him, or the team’s culture may not be something he would want to be a part of. He has been an LCS champion and gone to Worlds in the past, and he likely wants to go back again as soon as possible.

With all the rosters up in the air with teams looking for improvements, who will pick up the hottest player on the market this off-season?

Least likely to pick up Spica

  • TSM
  • Golden Guardians
  • Immortals
  • Dignitas
  • Cloud9
  • 100 Thieves
  • Evil Geniuses

Some of these teams should be obvious. TSM likely won’t pick him up since he was released from the team. There has been a rumor that he was offered $100k above his current salary from the team, but he turned that down. Since that was their best offer, so other teams are highly rated.

For Dignitas, Immortals, and Golden Guardians, the reason is purely due to his asking price. He is most likely out of their price range and not going to be someone that they actively try to pursue. They are also lower-placed teams that are unlikely to make it to Worlds in the future, a place that Spica wants to get to.

For Cloud9, 100 Thieves, and Evil Geniuses, they all have junglers and rosters that they are good with and have both made it to Worlds this year. He would only be a part of these teams if they failed at Worlds or the LCS Summer Finals. Only then would he be on their radar.

They may pick up Spica but are a long shot

  • FlyQuest
  • Counter Logic Gaming

These two teams may take a shot at getting Spica, but it’s a long one at best. Both teams like what they have with their rosters and what development they have shown. Both have some veteran leadership, but an experienced player like Spica could bring them up to the next level.

Spica didn’t have the best season as a player, but his highs were much higher than what either jungler on FlyQuest and Counter Logic Gaming showed, and his lows were not as bad either. That is the most likely reason why either team would pick him up in the first place.

Most likely to pick up Spica

  • Team Liquid Honda

The most likely team to pick up Spica would be Team Liquid Honda. We’ve seen it this year with the super team that they made that they are not scared to spend money on name-brand players. There is also a connection between Bjergsen and Spica from his time on TSM that would make the transition easier.

After not making it to Worlds this year, it is likely that Team Liquid Honda is going to rebuild. There hasn’t been any news on what players are staying and who is leaving. Bwipo and Hans Sama may leave to return to Europe, and there have been rumors that the current jungler, Santorin, may retire this year. If he does, that opens up a spot for Spica.

Of course, this is all speculation. There has been no news on where he will land or any teams interested in him. Talks likely won’t start until the end of Worlds on November fifth, but it’s still possible.

If you’d like to follow Spica on his socials, you can find his Twitter here, and his twitch account here.
