MHA 337 opens with a look at All for One and the League of Villains, the former commenting that the discovery of the traitor, assuming it did happen, would mean little in the grand scheme of their plans as they are disposable tools. Immediately, it cuts back to the forest as Aoyama is ferried off by his parents. Still crying, (and for the record, there is a LOT of crying in this chapter from like everyone so I’m gonna trim the fat on the details, so to speak) Aoyama remembers his happy childhood and reflects on the state of his parents who surely must have been more devastated than he was about being Quirkless.

After seeking out All for One, it was discovered that the Quirk wasn’t compatible with his body, but that there were workarounds via equipment. Around this time is when AfO started to give orders, such as what information to feed him or what actions must be done in what order. We see the reaction Aoyama had to Deku’s letter, despairing that he too was once Quirkless. Despite this, in an attempt to escape, Aoyama shoots a beam at Deku, one which is reflected by Tooru. She cries out to him, asking how he would feel if his classmates died and how he thought of his time with their peers. We even see part of her face as she weeps. Quickly, Deku uses Blackwhip to restrain the three members of the family, pointing out that Tooru acted so no one else could be hurt. He begs them to finally stop.

We then see the three tied to chairs within the academy before the teachers and principal, as well as Tsukachi. After deliberating on when the Quirk was given, as well as if he too could be detonated like Nagant, they tell the students to leave. They refuse, of course. The students give their reactions to the news from pondering worst-case scenarios to simply shouting in disbelief. Ultimately, they aren’t able to learn much through the interrogation as All for One threatened them without offering any of his information.

Aoyama begins to talk, commenting on how he slowly became friends with the people he may have been forced to try and kill. More than a fear for Deku after his departure letter, Aoyama felt more scared than ever for himself and his family which only served to hurt him more. He assures the class he is a rotten villain to the core, which Deku obviously counters. He points out that Aoyama had saved others in the training camp and even given Deku a tell due to the cheese.

He continues, proclaiming that Aoyama isn’t crying because of his failure to obey All for One, but because he can’t stand to betray his friends. Thinking back to Lady Nagant, Deku points out that even those brought to villainy and used by All for One can make the right decisions moving forward. Deku states that no one can be a villain forever due to one crime and echoes the titular phrase All Might once said to him hundreds of chapters ago with an outstretched hand: You too can become a hero. End of MHA 337…
